The Azure Window

It was used as a filming location for the Dothraki wedding scene in the first episode of HBO's TV series Game of Thrones. Daenerys and Drogo were hitched there, and it's the first time we are introduced to Ser Jorah. The Azure Window also featured in Clash of the Titans (1981), the television miniseries The Odyssey (1997) and the 2002 remake of The Count of Monte Cristo.

The dome of the rotunda weighs 4,535 tonnes. The dome is thickest at 6.4 meters at the base to 1.2 meters around the oculus. Different materials have been used for the construction of the dome with travertine and terracotta at the base and lighter more porous materials: tufa and pumice. The diameter and height of the interior is the same 43.3 meters. This means a sphere of 43.3 meters would fit in the interior of the rotunda.
